HACIENDA COLOMA

A true Colombian treasure

Coloma Rum was envisioned under the centuries-old trees of the Hacienda Coloma, a colonial house built in the late 19th century in Fusagasugá, a town located in the heart of Colombia, 1,700 meters above sea level.
Our Story

Crafting the Rum

To bring this dream to life, Don Alberto hired two young Colombian women, Master Blenders Sandra Reátegui and Judith Ramírez, with whom he developed his first rums. However, Don Alberto Constain felt his dream remained incomplete without a truly Colombian rum worthy of the history of Hacienda Coloma.

Some years after Don Alberto’s passing, and working with the same Master Blenders, his descendants developed Colombia’s first premium coffee liqueur. By aging it in oak barrels, they unintentionally began the creation and development of Coloma Rum.

HACIENDA COLOMA

The Secret of Coloma: How It's Made

Coloma Rum is a molasses rum sourced from two varieties of sugarcane. After aging for 8 years in first-fill American oak ex-Bourbon barrels, it is finished and refined for 8 to 12 weeks in the oak barrels previously used for Coloma coffee liqueur. This is where it gets its Colombian character, its long finish, and its unique personality.
