HACIENDA COLOMA

A true Colombian treasure

Coloma Rum was envisioned under the centuries-old trees of the Hacienda Coloma, a colonial house built in the late 19th century in Fusagasugá, a town located in the heart of Colombia, 1,700 meters above sea level.
Our Story

Crafting the Rum

To realize this dream, two young Colombian women, master rum blenders Sandra Reátegui and Judith Ramírez, were brought on board to develop the first rums. However, there was a feeling that the project remained incomplete without a typically Colombian rum, worthy of the history of Hacienda Coloma.

A few years later, alongside the same master rum blenders, Colombia’s first premium coffee liqueur was developed. By aging it in oak barrels, quite unintentionally, the creation and development of Coloma Rum thus began.

HACIENDA COLOMA

The Secret of Coloma: How It's Made

Coloma Rum is a molasses rum sourced from two varieties of sugarcane. After aging for 8 years in first-fill American oak ex-Bourbon barrels, it is finished and refined for 8 to 12 weeks in the oak barrels previously used for Coloma coffee liqueur. This is where it gets its Colombian character, its long finish, and its unique personality.
